The selection follows a competitive evaluation process and positions GITAI among a limited number of companies developing space-based interceptor systems and associated satellite platforms for national security applications.
GITAI will execute the program leveraging its vertically integrated development model. The company develops and manufactures core spacecraft and interceptor components in-house, enabling accelerated development timelines, cost efficiency, and reduced reliance on traditional supply chains.

Addressing U.S. Government Contracting Requirements
GITAI USA, based in Torrance, California, already designs and manufactures all of its space robotics systems—including advanced robotic arms, satellites, and robotic rovers—entirely within the United States. The company has a proven track record of securing contracts from U.S. government agencies such as DARPA, as well as from leading U.S. commercial space companies.
However, certain DoD and NASA solicitations require that prime contractors be majority-owned or controlled by U.S. citizens or permanent residents. To meet these criteria, GITAI Defense and Space LLC has been structured under a voting trust:
* 51% ownership by a U.S. trust company * 49% ownership by GITAI USA Inc.
